Westman Atelier has always felt like one of those effortlessly chic makeup brands that draws you in. The packaging is beautiful, the products promise glowing skin and easy makeup, and the whole brand has a very elevated “your skin but better” feel. Over the years, I have tried quite a few products from the line, ranging from complexion products to lip products and even some of the eye formulas.
After spending time with these products, I definitely have some favorites and a few disappointments. While Westman Atelier creates some truly standout face products that feel luxurious and easy to wear, not everything in the line lived up to the hype for me. Today I’m sharing my honest thoughts on everything I’ve tried, what is worth the splurge, and what I would skip.

Vital Skin Foundation Stick
I use the shade Atelier 0.5, which is described as fair with a neutral undertone. I do not usually gravitate toward stick foundations because they can emphasize dryness, but with good skin prep this one gives a beautiful natural finish. One thing worth noting is that the shades tend to lean warm, so if you have a truly cool undertone, you may struggle to find a perfect match. While I think this is a lovely foundation, it definitely feels like a luxury splurge. For me, I would rather repurchase the Merit stick foundation because it offers a wider shade range at a more affordable price.

Baby Cheeks Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Stick
This is such a lovely cream blush formula. It blends beautifully and gives you flexibility depending on the look you want. You can apply a small amount for a soft wash of color or build it up for more impact. I currently own the shade Petal, a dusty nude rose, and it has become a favorite. I would also love to try Mimi, a tawny beige shade exclusive to the Westman Atelier website.

Face Trace Cream Contour Stick
I do not usually purchase contour products, but I picked this up as part of a holiday set and ended up being pleasantly surprised. Finding a true contour shade for fair skin can be difficult, but the shade Biscuit works perfectly for my pale complexion. Since Westman Atelier expanded the range to eight shades, it has become even easier to find a good match. This ended up being one of the biggest surprises from the brand for me.

Lit Up Glow Highlighter Stick
Highlighter is one of my favorite makeup categories because I love a fresh, dewy glow. I was a little worried that this balmy formula would not give me the look I wanted, but thankfully it completely exceeded my expectations. It creates the most believable glow without looking overdone or glittery. I own the shade Lit, a glassy iridescent shade, and I would love to eventually try the limited edition shade Pärla.

Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Hydrating Lip Balm
I love a lip balm and lip oil hybrid, so I picked this up as soon as it launched. I have the shade Garçonne and could not be happier with it. The color is beautiful, the formula feels incredibly comfortable, and it gives the lips a soft glossy look. It does not have amazing staying power, but that does not bother me enough to take away from how much I enjoy using it.

HydroBalm Sheer Tinted Lipstick
I am a huge fan of sheer lipsticks because they are so easy to wear. These give the lips a soft wash of color with just enough shine without feeling overdone. Since the pigmentation is more sheer, they are also incredibly easy to reapply throughout the day without needing a mirror. The shade range is beautiful too, with everything from pretty pinks to deeper plum shades.

Eye Want You Lengthening + Volumizing Clean Mascara
Mascara is a category where I have very high standards, so it takes a lot to impress me. Unfortunately, as the most expensive mascara I have ever tried, this one simply does not justify the price. It adds a little extra volume and length without clumping, and I do appreciate the larger brush, but for $45 I expected a lot more performance. If you are specifically looking for a clean mascara with a more luxurious feel, I actually prefer the Im-Possible Mascara from Kjaer Weis. I found it performed much better for me overall, and it is also certified organic for those who prioritize that in their beauty products.

Eye Pods Eyeshadow
The Eye Pods are described as a cream-to-powder formula. Personally, I do not understand that description because these felt incredibly dry to me. They give only the slightest wash of color on the eyes and unfortunately do not wear particularly well throughout the day. Out of everything I tried from Westman Atelier, these were one of the biggest disappointments.

Overall, Westman Atelier really shines when it comes to complexion and lip products. The products that stood out the most for me were the ones that create that fresh, healthy, effortless look the brand is known for. If you are curious about trying Westman Atelier but do not know where to start, I would skip the eye products and focus on the categories where the brand truly excels.
If I had to narrow it down to my top recommendations, I would start with the Baby Cheeks Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Stick, Face Trace Cream Contour Stick, and Lit Up Glow Highlighter Stick. Those three products really capture what makes Westman Atelier special and are the items I consistently reach for.
