Back when I first started reviewing skincare products, there were not a lot of good affordable options. You had your more expensive products from places like Sephora or Dermstore and you had drugstore skincare. Thankfully, we have come a long way from apricot scrubs and cold cream. Now we have brands like Versed that bridge the gap.
Skincare that is more affordable is great, but only if the products actually work. So I decided to put Versed to the test. In this review, I will be sharing each product I’ve tried, I’ll share a bit about the ingredients and the claims, and I will tell you about my experience using the product.
** This post is not sponsored. However, I did receive some of these Versed skincare products as PR**

About Versed
Versed Skincare markets itself as a clean, affordable drugstore skincare brand. Versed’s mission is to deliver high-quality skincare without high markups. Everything is vegan and cruelty-free including zero artificial fragrances, parabens, and sulfates, along with 1,350+ other toxins that the brand avoids. All of their packaging is sustainable as well. Versed has maintained net-zero emissions since its launch in 2019!
Gentle Cycle Hydrating Milky Cleanser
According to Versed, this lightweight cleanser is supposed to gently dissolve makeup and remove impurities, leaving the skin soft, smooth, and moisturized. It is formulated with anti-inflammatory oat milk and antioxidant-rich marula oil to soothe and nourish dry, irritated, and sensitive skin. Probiotics and blackberry vinegar help strengthen the skin’s barrier while calming redness.
When I tested this cleanser, I found that it was super gentle and hydrating as they claim. However, this cleanser will not dissolve makeup. It was not stripping but it did feel like it left a bit of film. I prefer to use this cleanser in the morning to remove any oils or sweat that accumulated during the night.
Overall, I will continue to use this until I run out. It isn’t my favorite milky cleanser, but it is the best I have tried at this particular price point.
Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm
This cleansing balm is designed to remove makeup and impurities without stripping moisture from your skin. It is formulated with Vitamin E, jojoba oil, avocado oil, eucalyptus oil, and clove leaf oil.
I am not a big cleansing balm person, because I keep my makeup pretty minimal and I don’t use any hard-to-remove products on my eyes. I do reach for a cleansing balm when I have covered myself in lipstick or eyeliner swatches. This worked fine for that purpose but I can’t speak to how well this will remove a full face of makeup.
Baby Cheeks Hydrating Milk Toner
This toner is formulated with humectants that draw in moisture and nourishing amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. This hydrating toner’s milky texture leaves you feeling velvety-soft (thanks to algae extract, bamboo extract, and coconut water) and residue-free.
I love a good milky toner. They are great for hydrating the skin without leaving a thick heavy feeling like a moisturizer. To get the most out of a milky toner, I apply more than one layer to the skin. I spread it all over my face, let it sink in, then apply another layer. I repeat until my skin won’t drink up any more product.
If you are wanting to add a milky toner to your routine, this is a great option.
Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream
This lightweight moisturizing gel cream has a jelly-like texture that is made to disappear into the skin, without leaving a greasy film. It is formulated with green tea leaf extract, aloe leaf juice, and sodium hyaluronate.
This is a very light moisturizer. On my combination skin, it does not provide enough hydration. That isn’t to say this moisturizer is bad, but it is not meant for my skin type.
I would recommend this moisturizer to those with oily skin or those that don’t like the feeling of moisturizer.
Skin Soak Rich Moisture Cream
Enriched with restorative ingredients like algae extract, vitamin E, and squalane this rich moisture cream keeps skin nourished and hydrated while fending off signs of aging. According to Versed, oilier skin types can still use this moisturizer as a night cream or as their heavier wintertime moisture cream.
When they say rich moisture cream, they really mean it. I tried wearing this during the day but found that it just melted off my face in the summer heat. There was no way I could use this with SPF and makeup. However, it was perfect for giving me the glazed donut finish that I like for nighttime. I could see myself reaching for this moisturizer during the late winter when my skin is drier.
If you have dry skin, this is the moisturizer to pick from Versed.
Recovery Mode Advanced Night Cream
This repair cream works at the cellular level to smooth skin, reduce rough, crepey texture, and soften lines and wrinkles. Fermented purple tea delivers full-spectrum antioxidant protection to fend off free radicals. Green coffee extract adds a burst of energy to skin cells, allowing them to quickly shed off layers of damage, while microalgae protect against the premature degradation of collagen and elastin.
I really like this night cream. While it doesn’t feel as thick as the rich moisture cream, it did wonders for my dry patches.
If you have super dry skin, this might not provide enough hydration. But if you have normal, combination, or oily skin this is a must-have product from Versed!
Zero-G Smoothing Eye Cream

According to Versed, this eye cream is made with line-smoothing algae extract, firming peptides, and moisturizing olive oil. This Smoothing Eye Cream works to improve the appearance of crow’s feet. It leaves a soft-focus finish with an illuminating effect.
I don’t really like this cream. First, I would not call it a cream. The texture is very light and jelly-like. It applies nicely to the under eyes and workers well with other products. However, it is not very hydrating and does little to help illuminate the eye.
I hate saying this, but I don’t think you should buy this one.
Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen
This is a mineral sunscreen that has a peachy hue to help neutralize the white cast. Non-nano zinc oxide works at the skin’s surface to physically prevent UVA and UVB rays from penetrating your skin. Antioxidants fight off environmental and electronic damage for three-way protection and premature aging prevention.
I love trying new SPFs. I am always on the hunt for the best formula. When testing, I found this SPF to be thicker and heavier than I prefer. It is hard to spread and takes a while to work into the skin. The only time I reach for this is when I am not going to be wearing makeup. I brought it with me to the coast and I will be packing it with me on my trip to Washington later this fall. That being said, I would not repurchase this SPF.
You may like this if you are a mineral sunscreen loyalist with dry skin. Otherwise, I would skip it.
Overall Thoughts On Versed Skincare
For the most part, I enjoyed the Versed skincare products. The milky toner, rich cream, and advanced night cream are my favorites with the SPF and eye cream being my least favorite.
While Versed is available at Target, I recommend heading to the Versed site. They will periodically have sales, offer free gifts, or have sets available at a reduced price.
Versed has quite a few products available and should I test them, I will update this post.
