With the never-ending release of new products in the beauty space, finding the best products can be a daunting process.

After all, you don’t want to spend your hard earned money on a product to find that it doesn’t work.

We don’t want that for you either. So to help you get the beautiful skin you deserve, we spend countless hours and dollars testing skincare products.

And since we want to be known as someone you can trust, we only recommend the best of the best.

For this year’s Best Skincare of 2020 Awards, we are sharing the best products our team tried in 2020. These may be new releases or products that were just new to us. But one thing is for sure, they left a lasting (positive) impression.

Coming soon: Best Makeup of 2020

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip

Ceramic Slip Best Skincare

Sunday Riley was always one of those brands that we had heard about but for some reason never thought to review. The only reason this cleanser even made it onto our to test list was that it was sent in a beauty box and happened to be there when our editor ran out of face wash. But after she tried it, she had us all try it.

We all agreed that we wish we would have tried this cleanser sooner. It is a great face wash that cleanses the skin without stripping it and doesn’t leave behind any residue. That makes it a best skincare of 2020 winner in our book!

Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser

We can thank Causebox for introducing us to Korres and to this cleanser in particular. This was another brand that we just hadn’t tried much from. We were a bit worried about how a foaming yoghurt cleanser would work. Would it be too gentle or leave a residue?

This cleanser does come to a nice but gentle foam. We love that it made our face feel clean but hydrated. This cleanser is gentle but effective, making it a great cleanser for combination, normal, or sensitive skin.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner

Kiehls Toner

Can you believe there is not one but two toners on our favorites list? Up until this year, toner was one of those products we just couldn’t get excited about.

So why exactly do we love this Kiehl’s toner? We love that we can reach for this product when our skin is red and angry looking. This alcohol-free toner soothes our angry skin and leaves it hydrated. Nervous about the price? Try a mini bottle.

OLEHENRIKSEN Glow2OHâ„¢ Dark Spot Toner

I don’t think we can put into words how much we love this toner. With a high concentration of AHAs and witch hazel to reduce the look of dark spots, this toner means business.

If you have sensitive or easily irritated skin, step away from this toner. If your skin is able to handle strong actives, you will love this toner for evening skin texture and fading acne marks.

Pro tip: We recommend easing into this product. Start by using it twice a week and then slowly increase the frequency to 3X or 4X weekly.

Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence

This fragrance-free fermented treatment is also formulated with 17% birch juice to add hydration and 9% rice extracts to illuminate skin from within. Full of natural brighteners, antioxidants, and cell-communicating ingredients, this essence is the key to glowing, supple “honey skin”

During the winter, our skin can use a bit more glow and hydration. We opted to reach for this essence because it hydrates the skin without adding any heaviness as a thicker moisturizer would.

Sunday Riley Tidal Enzyme Water Cream

Sunday Riley Tidal Cream

After finding a new favorite in the Ceramic Slip cleanser, we were ready to try more from Sunday Riley. From the small line of moisturizers they offer, Tidal spoke to us the most. A brightening water cream, yes, please!

The texture of this water cream may seem a bit odd, but that is where the magic lies. It gives the skin a boost in hydration, sinks into the skin quickly, and doesn’t feel heavy. If you have dry skin, you may find this doesn’t give you quite enough hydration. But it is perfect for combination and oily skin.

PS. This moisturizer has been selling out as soon as it restocks. Make sure to grab some of this best skincare of 2020 award winner the next time it is available.

Supergoop! Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40

Supergoop Glow Screen

In the past, putting on sunscreen was the least enjoyable part of our skincare routine. But now that we turn into a glowing Goddess every time we apply this product, it has changed how we feel.

If you like to glow, you need this product. If you don’t like glowing skin, you’re wrong, but we forgive you. All kidding aside, if you like a more understated matte look to your skin, you won’t like this product.

Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial

Best Skincare of 2020 includes Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial

This is one of those products that you look at and aren’t exactly sure what to make of it. Is it a mask, treatment, or what? So we picked it up to find out.

Now we are slightly addicted to this product. We love to use this as an overnight treatment a few times a week when our skin needs some added hydration. Whenever we use the Waterfacial, we wake up with nicely hydrated, plump, and glowing skin.

This mask isn’t thick, making it ideal for those with normal to combination skin. For those with dry skin, you would need to pair this with a facial oil.

Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask

Best Skincare of 2020 included Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask

We don’t break out often, but this year we’ve had to deal with some major acne. To help heal our mask induced acne, we tried everything under the sun. Zit stickers worked but ended up being a bit too expensive. On the hunt for a more economical product, we came across this mask.

We don’t use this as a mask though. It is much too strong to put all over the face. Instead, we use this mask as a spot treatment. All you need to do is take a small amount of the mask and apply it to your blemishes. Then in a matter of minutes, your zit is shrinking.

OLEHENRIKSEN PHAT Glow Facialâ„¢ Mask

Best Skincare of 2020

We heard a rumor that this mask was a great alternative to the Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial, so we had to put it to the test ourselves.

While this facial is not a dupe for the Babyfacial, it is a great alternative for those looking for a gentler option. Instead of using strong AHAs and BHAs like the Babyfacial, PHAT Glow uses PHAs and Nordic birch sap to exfoliate, illuminate, and brighten skin.
