The Best Highlighting Products For You

While skincare is one of my favorite things, I am really starting to get more interested in makeup. I love looks that are a bit more natural. Of course, I really love the glowing skin you see on the models in magazines. If you need some help figuring out which highlighting products to check out, look no further than this post.

To preface, I am a deep winter in coloring. I have light skin, dark eyes, dark hair, and pink undertones. Some of my selections will work on some skin tones better than others. When it comes to highlighters, I prefer sticks and liquid. You will find that you have a preference after you try a couple too.

Benefits Watt’s Up: I like the travel size because it is small enough to get into small spots like the inner corner of the eyes and the cupids bow. The larger version can make precise application a bit trickier. This product does come with it’s own applicator which some people like. I usually use my fingers  to blend because that is my preference.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight in Champagne Pop: This is by far the most popular color of all the BECCA highlighters. I love that the shimmer didn’t look too glittery.  I personally love the Moonstone shade for my fairer skin. Apply this product before foundation for a radiant glow or after foundation like a typical highlight.

Milk Makeup Highlighter in Champagne Pearl: This is a really great color for a lot of people. My one issue with this is that it feels a bit sticky after first applying.

NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator: For those on a budget, this is a great find at $7. I purchased this in Sunbeam which was perfect for my light complexion. This product can be applied under foundation to give an all over radiant glow or it can be applied like a traditional highlight. You can apply this with your fingers or a beauty sponge.

Nars The Multiple: This product comes in a ton of colors. My favorites are Copacabana and Luxor. I also tested the South Beach which would look good on someone with a darker skin tone.

Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight:  As I mentioned, I am not much for powder. However, if you want to go the powder route, this is a solid option. It is pretty expensive but none of the other powders I tried were as nice as this one.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter: This is another great option for a powder highlight. I currently have Moonstone and have my eye on Vanilla Quartz since I am more fair/light.

Wet N Wild MegaGlow Highlighting Powder: if you are looking for a powder highlight that is budget friendly (under $5), Wet N Wild is a great option. I love the shade Blossom Glow but many big YouTubers swear by Precious Petals.

Each month I round up a  number of products for a monthly beauty review. Because I want these reviews to be helpful for you, I would love to know what type of products you are curious about. Is there anything you would like to see me review? Blushes? Drugstore foundations? Nail polish? You name it and I will try my best to help you find the best products for your needs and budget.
