For my latest brand review, I tested products from the clean luxury brand, Tatcha. From The Dewy Skin Cream that will give you beautiful, glowing skin to the well-known oil cleanser, I’ll be sharing which products are the best and which don’t live up to the hype.
The Best Tatcha Products
The Camellia Oil 2-in-1 Makeup Remover & Cleanser
This cleanser single-handedly changed my mind about using oil-based cleansers on my combination skin. It leaves the skin feeling clean, but not greasy. Also, a little goes a long way so don’t let the price of the bottle scare you. Get the mini bottle from Sephora if you don’t want to invest in the full size.
The Rice Wash Soft Cream Cleanser
If you’ve heard that you shouldn’t use scrubs but you still want to gently remove flakey skin, this is a must-try cleanser. The rice particles are so small you don’t need to worry about damaging your skin. It also has conditioning ingredients that leave the skin feeling soft and hydrated.
The Dewy Skin Cream
Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream was an instant hit when it was released. This cream is rich so it is best suited for normal and dry skin types. If you are on the combination side, like me, you may want to wait until winter to try it. I loved how it made my winter skin look radiant instead of dry and dull.
Violet-C Radiance Mask
Vitamin C and AHAs work together in this mask to brighten the complexion and erase fine lines. I love that the mask doesn’t dry down so it isn’t impossible to remove. It is gentle enough that you can use it if you have sensitive skin but effective enough that one jar will make a visible difference in your skin.
Skip On These Tatcha Products
Now that you know which products are must-haves, it is time to go over the products that I won’t be purchasing again. For each product, I’ll let you know why I don’t like it and what I would recommend buying instead.
The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder
My biggest gripe with this product is that it is a hassle to use. You wet your face, wet your hands, pour some of the powder in your hands, then you rub your hands together to create a gentle foam. While that sounds easy, most of the time it resulted in a mess of wasted product. Instead of purchasing the enzyme powder, just purchase The Rice Wash.
Luminous Dewy Skin Mist
There are two ways to use this product. You can spray it on the face to refresh and hydrate the skin. You can also use it as a setting spray over makeup. On my combination skin, the dewy skin mist is too heavy and greasy. As a setting spray, this does give a bit of a glow to your makeup look. However, I find it much too expensive to use it as a setting spray. If you are looking for a face mist, I prefer a simple one like Evian. For a luminous setting spray, I love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy Set Setting Spray.
Overall Thoughts On Tatcha Skincare
If you try any products from the brand, you won’t be disappointed. Sephora offers a variety of products in both full and mini sizes. You can also find the entire line on the Tatcha site.
