I’ve Tried All The Rhode Skin Products, My Opinion Will Surprise You

When I heard that Hailey Bieber was launching a skincare line, I was not interested. I believed we didn’t need yet another celebrity money grab. I put my foot down and said no to Rhode Skin.

After a few months, I started to hear rave reviews about the products, particularly the lip treatment. But were the products good or were people raving about them because Hailey Bieber made them? I had to find out for myself.

After months of stalking the website, I was finally able to order all three products. I have used the products exclusively, every day since I received them. Now that I’ve had time to formulate an opinion, here is my review of Rhode.

About Rhode Skin

Hailey Beiber founded Rhode Skin in June 2022. She started the brand in order to make effective skincare accessible to all.

The skin care line is a curated collection of three products, none of which are priced over $30. The simplicity of the product line and the price point are in line with the brand’s values of simplicity, affordability, authenticity, quality, and transparency.

While Hailey Beiber is the face of the brand, she developed the products with oversight from  Dr. Ron Robinson, a cosmetic chemist, and Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali, a dermatologist.

Peptide Glazing Fluid

The Peptide Gazing Fluid also referred to as “The Dewy Hydration Layer” is the key step to dewy, glazed skin. Formulated with niacinamide, peptides, marula oil, and hyaluronic acid this serum brightens, improves texture, and hydrates the skin.

When dispensed from the pump, the serum has a lightweight gel-cream texture. Once it is rubbed into the skin, the texture changes to a hydrating glaze-like formula.

When applying, I was surprised that the glazing fluid did not make me look like a glazed donut. However, the serum did leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It didn’t feel thick and heavy and it wasn’t sticky like some hyaluronic acid serums tend to be.

Barrier Restore Cream

Rhode Skin Barrier Restore Cream

Rhode Skin’s Barrier Restore Cream is the rich recovery layer in your skincare routine. It is formulated with shea butter, squalane, niacinamide, and bisabolol. The ingredients help to soothe the skin, repair the skin barrier, and hydrate.

If you have ever used a barrier repair cream, you know they are often very thick and occlusive. However, I found the Rhode Barrier Resorte Cream to be much lighter than other barrier repair creams I have tested. For those with super dry and dehydrated skin, that might be a drawback, but for my combination skin, it was a plus.

One thing that seems to be a trend, is that this product also failed to give me glazed donut skin. With the brand using a glazed donut in their imagery, I was disappointed to find I didn’t get those results.

Peptide Lip Treatment

Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment is a restorative lip treatment that serves as the nourishing lip layer in your skincare routine. The treatment contains shea butter, peptides, cupacu, and babassu, which help restore moisture and make lips visibly plump. Currently, it is being offered in three flavors/scents- watermelon slice, salted caramel, and unscented.

The winter weather paired with a cold that won’t go away has left my lips super dry. I’ve been trying just about everything under the sun to heal them. But now my search can end. Seriously, this lip balm, lip gloss, and lip treatment hybrid has done wonders for my chapped lips.

I purchased the Watermelon Slice, which has a pleasant watermelon scent to it. It isn’t overly strong and it doesn’t smell artificial. If I get the opportunity, I might try the salted caramel.

Final Thoughts About Rhode Skin

Overall, I am pretty impressed with the skincare line. I can see why the products continue to sell out and it isn’t just because it’s Hailey Bieber’s brand. These products were formulated with some thought and care. Honestly, it is refreshing to see a celebrity put this much effort into a brand.

I do want to speak a bit more about the formulas of the products. You can tell Rhode wanted to create effective, cost-friendly skincare products. They didn’t pack the formulas with actives, but they aren’t full of fillers either.

I do want to point out that both of the face products contain niacinamide. Niacinamide can help fade hyperpigmentation on the skin, reduce oil production, and improve skin texture. However, it is important to use this ingredient carefully. Combing it with Vitaminc C, AHAs, or just using too much can cause redness and irritation.
