To take that time from relaxing to truly special, I reach for the best lotions and potions in my collection. Most of the time, that means I am reaching for a product from OSEA Malibu. Between the beautiful packaging, amazing fragrances, and skin-nurturing formulas, they know how to make skincare feel like an experience.
In this post, I delve into each OSEA product I’ve tried. I’ll share my experience with each product’s texture, fragrance, and effectiveness. By the end, you will know which OSEA products to add to your very own self-care routine.

Undaria Cleansing Body Polish
I love trying different body scrubs to help tackle rough patches and KP on my body. Of all the body scrubs I have tested, this one is the most unique.
Since the ingredients mention rice particles and pumice, I expected a pretty gritty texture. However, the granules are incredibly small and fine. While fine granules are good because they won’t strip or cut the skin, this makes the scrub gentler than I was expecting.
Another thing I wasn’t expecting was that this isn’t just a scrub. It is also a cleanser. As you rub it into your skin, the texture changes from a gritty scrub to a milky cleanser. Surprisingly, after rinsing, it left my skin feeling clean and not greasy.
Realizing this scrub is more of a cleanser, I understand why the granules are finer. A thick scrub with large granules would not transform into a creamy cleanser.
Of course, we have to talk about the fragrance. Like all of the products in the Undaria line, this has a soft citrus scent. The fragrance notes include uplifting grapefruit, lime, and cypress blended with sweet notes of mango and mandarin. I personally love this fragrance profile. It smells fresh and clean but is not overpowering.
After using this product for some time, I have come to look at it as a cleanser, not a scrub. While the AHAs do help exfoliate over time, I prefer to reach for a chunkier scrub when I want to really exfoliate my skin.
While I use it differently than I thought I would, I still really love this product. If you are looking for a beautiful chemical exfoliating wash, I think you will enjoy the Undaria Cleansing Body Polish.
Undaria Algae Body Lotion
For the longest time, I was not a lotion person. But as I have gotten older, my skin has gotten much drier. To combat that dryness, I have been testing out a lot of different body lotions.
For me, the perfect body lotion is hydrating but not greasy. It also needs to smell nice, but not have an overpowering fragrance.
The Undaria Body Lotion meets all of these requirements. I love that it isn’t greasy but provides the perfect amount of hydration for my skin. Plus, the citrus fragrance is refreshing without being too much.
When it comes to usage, I reach for this lotion both day and night. It is my go-to body moisturizer that I use daily.
While this lotion is perfect for me, if you love a very rich and thick body lotion, this might not be for you. For a thicker and richer lotion, you may want to try OSEA’s body butter.
Undaria Algae Body Butter
Even though my skin is getting drier as I get older, I still prefer lotions that have a lighter weight. Knowing this is body butter, I was apprehensive about trying this product.
As expected, the Undaria Algae Body Butter is very much a body butter, with a thick consistency that’s more substantial than a lotion but not quite as dense as a balm. Despite the thickness, I was surprised that it was easy to rub into the skin. I did notice that while it rubbed in easily, it did not go far. I have to reach into the tub several times to get enough product.
Since this is a richer consistency, I prefer to use the body butter on my elbows, knees, and ankles where I need the added moisture. It feels a bit too greasy to apply anywhere else.
If you have very dry skin, you could apply this to your entire body. However, you would run through the tub rather quickly. I recommend using it only where you need an extra boost of moisture.
Undaria Algae Body Oil
If you were to ask me about body oils, I’d say I’m not a huge fan. Most feel greasy and heavy. However, the Undaria Algae Body Oil has changed my mind.
Unlike a lot of body oils, this one goes on very light and absorbs quickly. It does leave a bit of a sheen to the skin, giving your skin a nice natural glow once applied.
Another thing I really appreciate about this product is the packaging. The pump is a huge plus. It dispenses just the right amount of oil and eliminates the messiness of dealing with a pour bottle or dropper.
Since this oil is part of the Undaria line, it does have a soft citrus fragrance. I do feel like the fragrance notes are a bit softer in the oil, but they are still present.
Because body oil is a great way to lock in moisture, I prefer to use this oil right after a bath or shower while my skin is still damp. Some days, I will apply it by itself. But when my skin is feeling extra parched, I will apply this on top of the Undaria Algae Body Lotion.
Anti-Aging Body Balm
Out of the OSEA body products I tried, the Anti-Aging Body Balm was the oiliest by far. The texture, while thin like a lotion, contains a significant amount of oil that left a greasy residue on my skin. Even on typically drier areas like elbows and knees, it felt excessively oily. The only way I would recommend using it is as an additional layer of moisture for extremely dry spots.
Like most OSEA products, the balm has a fragrance. The fragrance has notes of jasmine, rose geranium, and basil. While it is a lovely scent, I personally prefer the lighter citrus scent of the Undaria line.
Overall, I found this product much too oily for my skin type. However, it might work for someone needing a major moisture boost on extremely dry skin.
Salts of the Earth Body Scrub
The Salts of the Earth Body Scrub is exactly what I think of when it comes to a body scrub. It has a noticeable amount of grit with larger granules, making it great for buffing away dead skin cells. In addition to the larger granules, the scrub has a higher oil content. This oil leaves your skin moisturized and glowing even after rinsing.
The calming lavender scent sets it apart from the Undaria line, and the more intense exfoliation makes it a great choice for an evening bath routine when you want a relaxing and pampering experience. I prefer the Undaria Body Polish for regular use since it’s gentler and has the citrus scent I love, but when I want something more intensive, this is the one I reach for.
OSEA Malibu Skincare
Ocean Cleanser
This is the first product that I tried from OSEA Malibu. I received a small sample of the Ocean Cleanser in a subscription box. I remember using it thinking it would be just another cleanser in my collection.
This cleanser surprised me with its gentle yet effective cleansing power. While it doesn’t lather much, it did a fantastic job of removing everyday impurities like dirt and oil without stripping my skin. My combination skin felt refreshed, soft, and clean, but not at all tight or dry. There was also no leftover residue, which is always a plus.
It’s important to note that the Ocean Cleanser isn’t meant for removing makeup. If you wear makeup, I would suggest using a cleansing oil or balm first. Then you could use the Ocean Cleanser as your second cleanse.
Ocean Cleansing Milk
The soft, milky texture of the Ocean Cleansing Milk from OSEA Malibu initially drew me in, perfect for those sensitive skin days. I tried it for the first time without makeup, and it did a fantastic job of cleansing and soothing my irritated skin. After washing, my skin felt hydrated and unbelievably soft.
Once I realized it was designed for makeup removal, I tried it again with a face of light makeup. It did a good job of removing most of my makeup routine, including my tinted moisturizer and lip gloss. However, it did struggle a bit with removing regular mascara. For heavy makeup or waterproof mascara and eyeliner, I would suggest going in with an eye makeup remover first.
Overall, the Ocean Cleansing Milk impressed me. It is a great choice for light makeup wearers with sensitive skin. Plus, it’s a gentle yet effective cleanser to use on no-makeup days as well.
Seaglow Resurfacing Scrub
As someone with combination, but often dehydrated skin, I’m always on the hunt for a good facial exfoliator that effectively removes dry patches without irritating my skin. Having had positive experiences with OSEA products before, I decided to give the Seaglow Resurfacing Scrub a try.
I really appreciate that this scrub combines chemical and physical exfoliation. The texture was gritty but not harsh, with no worries about micro-tears. The AHAs seemed gentle yet effective. I had no stinging or redness after using it.
After using the scrub just once a week, my skin already felt smoother and I noticed less dryness overall.
It’s important to note that while the scrub is gentle, it may not be suitable for those with very sensitive skin or allergies to botanical ingredients, especially lavender oil. If you have very sensitive skin, it’s always best to do a patch test before applying any new product to your face.
Overall, I would recommend the OSEA Seaglow Resurfacing Scrub to most people, except those with ultra-sensitive skin. It’s a gentle yet effective exfoliator that leaves skin looking and feeling smoother.
Seaglow Overnight Serum AHA Treatment
As someone with easily irritated skin, I’m usually nervous about trying AHA products. However, I was more comfortable trying the Seaglow Overnight Serum AHA Treatment because the primary AHA is lactic acid, which is known to be a gentler AHA.
Overall, I had a very positive experience using this AHA treatment. It didn’t cause any burning or redness, which is a concern I often have with chemical exfoliants. My skin actually felt smoother and brighter after using it for a few nights! I found it fit well into my routine and used it comfortably 2-3 times a week.
While I didn’t experience any irritation, it’s always best to patch test a new product, especially if you have very sensitive skin.
Overall, I would recommend this serum to anyone looking for a gentle AHA serum.
Seabiotic Water Cream
As someone with dehydrated yet combination skin, I’m always on the lookout for a moisturizer that provides enough hydration without feeling heavy.
The Seabiotic Water Cream impressed me with its texture. It’s a cream, but absorbs very quickly and leaves my skin feeling moisturized, not greasy at all.
While I could use this in the morning and at night, I prefer to use it during the day. I like how well it layers with my other skincare products and with my tinted SPF. At night, I like to reach for something a bit richer than this water cream.
Again, I think this is a really nice moisturizer. I believe the lightweight water cream texture makes it ideal for those with normal to oily skin. If you have drier skin or prefer a rich, creamy moisturizer, this wouldn’t be the best option for you.

Overall, I am very impressed with OSEA Malibu. I would go as far as to say I love OSEA. They really do deliver a luxurious user experience with high-quality and effective products.
If I had to point you somewhere to start, it would be the body care line. The body products are where OSEA really shines.
My favorite body products are the Undaria Algae Body Lotion, Undaria Algae Body Oil, and the Undaria Cleansing Body Polish.
While I prefer OSEA’s body products, OSEA skincare is also lovely. My favorite OSEA skincare products are the Ocean Cleanser and the Seaglow Resurfacing Scrub.
