Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, fall has become my favorite season. Subsequently, October has become my favorite month. There is no other month that feels more like fall.
Relish (rel-ish) verb. 1. enjoy greatly. 2. anticipate with pleasure 3. make pleasant to the taste.
I don’t know about you, but that pretty much sums up all I want for October.
Do you know what keeps me from relishing my days? Simply getting too caught up in the stresses and anxieties of daily life. I get so distracted and consumed by the few unpleasant things that I am not capable of enjoying the beautiful moments that are right in front of me.
This month’s editorial theme is Relish. I can’t wait to open myself up to not only experiencing, but actually enjoying the things that life sends my way. To explore the idea of relishing life, we are sharing tips on how to be present, easy ways to bring more happiness into your life, and quick sheet pan dinners that will leave you with more time for the family each evening. If we can leave you with a warm heart and a happier soul, I’ll consider this month’s theme a success.
Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with family and friends. -Thomas S. Monson
