Dry cracked winter lips are not a good look on anyone. Plus when they get really bad, they can be painful and that is no fun. Thankfully with a good lip balm, those dreaded painful lips can be avoided.
The key, of course, is in not letting your lips get too dry in the first place and making sure to exfoliate them on a regular basis with a scrub.
If you are looking to prevent chapped lips or treat them, these are the lip balms and treatments I recommend.

Laneige Lip Glowy Balm
When this lip balm was released I didn’t want to buy it. After all, $15 was a lot of money to spend on something that usually gets lost in a purse. But one day, I was waiting in line at Sephora and it called out to me. I just couldn’t resist. I picked up the grapefruit flavor and I haven’t regretted it for a second.
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
Of course, I can’t make a list of the best lip balms without including Burt’s Bees. You can get the traditional Burts Bees Lip Balm or you can opt for the tinted version. If you go tinted, pick up Rose or Red Dahlia.
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm
This balm from Jack Black had to be included in this list because my husband loves it. While all of the varieties are great, the Shea Butter with Vitamin E version is his favorite. I love that it is a fuss-free option that also has SPF.
Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment
I know that everyone just loves the Fresh Sugar Lip Balm, but I prefer the Advanced Therapy instead. The advanced formula is much more nourishing. Also, I like that this one is clear. It’s nice to just reach for it and not have to worry about how I am applying it.
Biossance Squalane+ Rose Vegan Lip Balm
The Biossance lip balm is the newest addition to my list. I love that it has a thick nourishing formula that thins slightly once applied. I was also pleasantly surprised by how long it lasted. This balm stuck around even after, I drank water and had a snack.
