Kosas Brand Review

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Comfy Skin Tint

Kosas Tinted Face Oil

The Kosas Tinted Face Oil is a medium-coverage skin tint with a velvet finish. It is currently available in 16 shades.

When applying this skin tint, it is super important to start with a well-prepped face. You’ll want to avoid water-based primers when using this skin tint since it is oil-based. Once applied, the skin tint dries down to a velvet-matte finish.

When I tested this, I could instantly tell it wasn’t meant for my skin type. It looked very cakey and clung to all of my dry patches and texture. No matter how I prepped my skin, I had the same result. Ultimately, I ended up decluttering this product.

The only way I could recommend the skin tint is if you have very nice, smooth skin because it really emphasizes dryness and texture.

PS. This product is being discontinued.

Verdict: Pass on it. Looking for a clean beauty alternative? Try this Vapour Foundation. Otherwise, pick up the Fenty.

Kosas Revealer Foundation

Kosas Revealer Foundation

The Kosas Revlaer Foundation is a medium-coverage foundation with a natural finish. It is currently available in 36 shades.

Since I enjoyed the concealer, I ordered the Kosas foundation on the day it was released. I was hoping it would have the same agreeable formula. Unfortunately, I did not have that experience.

The first time I used this foundation I thought it looked great in the mirror after application. However, an hour later, the foundation looked terrible. It settled into my texture and dry spots making it very obvious I was wearing makeup.

If you have dry skin, texture, or large pores, I recommend priming the face with a pore-filling silicone primer. This will help the foundation sit better on the skin.

Verdict: Buy it if you have oily or combination skin. Skip it if you have texture.

Kosas Revealer Concealer

The Revealer Concealer is a medium-coverage concealer with a natural finish. It is available in 28 shades with a variety of undertones including neutral, golden, peach, and olive.

If you decide to pick up this concealer, I would recommend purchasing it in-store. It was really hard to find the correct color match from the swatches online. I ended up purchasing two shades, one that was the right undertone but too dark and another that ended up being too light.

Once you have found the correct shade, this concealer works like a dream. What makes this concealer so nice is that it gives good coverage but it is also very smooth. There is no cracking or caking.

Verdict: Buy it!

Kosas Cloud Set Setting Powder

The Cloud Set Powder is a super soft, sheer setting and smoothing powder. Like the foundation, this powder is available in 10 shades.

The description says this powder reduces shine without getting rid of the glow. While that may sound impossible, it really lives up to the claim. Even if you are not a powder person, you need to experience this product for yourself.

Verdict: Buy it!

Kosas The Sun Show Bronzer

Kosas Bronzer

The Sun Show Moisturizing Baked Bronzer is a baked bronzer with a radiant finish. It is available in 3 shades.

If you are looking for a matte bronzer, go ahead and skip this product. This bronzer doesn’t have visible glitter, but it does give the skin a radiant glow. One drawback of this product is the lack of shades. It would be nice if there was an additional shade at each end of the spectrum so more people can use this bronzer.

Personally, I prefer a matte bronzer that is a little less orange.

Verdict: Buy it if you want to try a radiant bronzer. Otherwise, skip it.

Kosas Color & Light Cream

The Color & Light Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo

The Color & Light Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo is an ultra-blendable cream blush and highlighter palette. Each duo is available in two levels of intensity for color that works for every skin tone.

The formula of the creams in this palette is amazing. They are so smooth and easy to blend. Because they are so easy to apply and blend you don’t have to worry about going overboard with either the highlight or the blush. The color pairings are beautiful and one of a kind.

Despite the beautiful formula and gorgeous shades, this palette has one major downside. The shelf life of the palette is only 6 months. After testing both 8th Muse and Velvet Melon for a few months, the texture of the cream started to change. By the six-month mark, both palettes had to be decluttered.

If you want to pick up this palette and use it as your only blush and highlight, you may be able to use the majority of the product before it goes bad. However, if you like to rotate between products, you won’t be able to use up this palette before it expires.

PS. This product is being discontinued.

Verdict: Unless this is your only blush and highlighter, skip it. Try the Kjaer Weis Refillable Flush & Glow Duo instead.

Kosas 10 Second Liquid Eyeshadow

10 Second Liquid Eyeshadow

The 10 Second Liquid Eyeshadow is lightweight, water-based, liquid eyeshadow. This formula has been reformulated from the original Kosas eyeshadow. The 10 Second Eyeshadow is currently available in 6 shades.

The new formula is very different from the original eyeshadow. While the texture of the new one is thicker, it applies much sheerer than the original. It now only gives a wash of color.

Because the original gave more color payoff and had more shimmer, most people don’t like the new formula. I did like the original but it wasn’t a must-have product for me. The new version is also just okay.

Verdict: Pass on it. Buy the Ilia or RMS instead.

Kosas Air Brow Clear

Clear Brow Gel

According to Kosas, this is a clean, clear brow gel that fluffs, lifts, and sets brows in place. A tinted version of the Air Brow is also available.

Overall this product was disappointing. While it will not give you crunchy eyebrows, it also does not provide enough lift or hold.

Verdict: Pass on it. Consider purchasing Boy Brow from Glossier instead.

Kosas The Big Clean Mascara

Mascara

Recently reformulated, Kosas claims this mascara has a new long-wear formula. The mascara is formulated to give volume while conditioning the lashes.

Even after a reformulation, this mascara does not live up to the claims. The goopy formula is messy giving more clumps than volume. Plus the heavy formula weighs down lashes, causing them to droop.

Verdict: Pass on it. Try the Rare Beauty mascara instead.

Kosas Wet Lip Oil

Kosas The Wet Lip Oil

The Wet Lip Oil is a lip treatment and gloss in one that is formulated with peptides to plump and hydrate while providing a tinted high-shine finish. This lip oil is available in 8 shades.

Of all the Kosas products to try, this is one that needs to be added to your order. The formula is the perfect middle ground between lip oil and gloss. It hydrates the lips and gives a nice amount of color.

Verdict: Buy it in multiple colors!

Kosas Lipfuel

Kosas Lipfuel

The Lipfuel is a sheer but buildable lip balm loaded with skincare ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E. The Lipfuel is currently available in 4 shades.

The Kosas Lipfuel is exactly what it sounds like, a tinted lip balm. The formula is fine but nothing to write home about. Likewise, the shades are okay but not noteworthy.

Verdict: Try it as a part of a set at Kosas.com. Otherwise, pick up a tinted balm at the drugstore.

Kosas Weightless Lipstick

Weightless Lipstick

The Weightless Lipstick is a clean beauty lipstick that delivers pigment with a lived-in finish. It is formulated with a blend of six botanical oils and three botanical butters. There are currently 8 shades available in this formula.

The formula of this lipstick is really nice. It goes on easily and provides a nice amount of pigment to the lips. The color range is also very nice, with very easy-to-wear, classic shades.

Kosas really hits it out of the park with their lip oil and this lipstick. I have the shade Rosewater which is perfect for every day.

PS. This product has been discontinued.

Verdict: Buy it.

Kosas Chemistry Deodorant

Kosas The Chemistry Deodorant

The Chemistry Deodorant is a clean, stain-free serum deodorant that features a unique AHA blend. It is available in Serene Clean and fragrance-free.

If you are looking to move away from traditional deodorant, this is the deodorant to try. A lot of clean deodorants will work great for a couple of weeks and then stop working. This Kosas never stops working. It will keep you fresh and stink-free.

This is the only non-traditional deodorant I will buy. It really does work great.

Verdict: Buy it right now.

Kosas Good Body Skin AHA + Enzyme Exfoliating Body Wash

Kosas Body Wash Review

The Kosas Body Wash is a daily-exfoliating body gel cleanser with AHAs and fruit enzymes that unclogs pores, visibly smooths texture, and fight blemishes.

If you are looking to upgrade your body wash, the Kosas wash is the way to go. Not only is it more affordable than Necessaire, but it works better.

Verdict: Buy it.

Kosas DreamBeam Silicone-Free Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40

The Kosas Dream Beam SPF is a silicone-free mineral sunscreen infused with ceramides and peptides. It moisturizes, visibly smooths, brightens, and creates an ideal makeup base.

If you are looking for a lightweight SPF that works well under SPF, you need to try this one from Kosas. Yes, it is a tad on the expensive side, but you don’t have to worry about pilling or a white cast.

Verdict: Buy it!

Overall Thoughts

Kosas is a brand that I will be watching. I really appreciate that they try to formulate unique products. Of the products I tested, I really enjoyed the setting powder, concealer, and lip oil.
