An Introduction To Indie Lee Skincare

Late at night during the cold and dreary January, I was scrolling through Anthropologie’s beauty section. I was looking for nothing specific when I stumbled upon Indie Lee. I immediately fell in love with the packaging and the products sounded great.

If you haven’t heard of Indie Lee, you need to read about her. Her story is totally inspiring. Who wouldn’t want to try her products after learning how much work and heart go into making them?

Indie Lee Skincare Review

Indie Lee Skincare Review

For this post, I decided to pick up a handful of products. As I try more Indie Lee skincare, I will update this post. For now, this is just going to be an introduction to the brand with a review of the products I have tried so far.

Purifying Face Wash: Of the two face wash products I have tried, this one is my favorite. It leaves my skin feeling clean, doesn’t leave a film, and doesn’t strip my skin. This cleanser would be great for normal, oily, and combination skin as a daily face wash.

Brightening Cleanser: Since I have acne scars and discoloration, I love any product that helps brighten the skin. According to the website, this cleanser is also supposed to help with skin texture as well. On days that my skin was oilier and dirtier, it didn’t get effectively clean my skin. On regular days, the cleanser was fine. I still prefer the purifying face wash over this one.

Coq-10 Toner: This is my absolute favorite product from the Indie Lee skincare line. It smells amazing and it makes my skin calm and refreshed. I love the spray nozzle so I don’t have to use a cotton round. I just use my fingers to pat the products into the skin. This product may feel sticky at first, but that feeling does go away. I highly recommend this for all skin types but particularly those that have issues with redness.

Squalane Facial Oil: To be honest, I was a bit nervous to try this product. When I tried facial oils in the past, I ended up with large, painful acne spots all over my face. However, this squalane facial oil has made me a convert. It does not break me out and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily. I love to use it in the evening before bed or after doing an acid-based face peel. I recommend this oil to anyone with normal to oily skin.

Active Oil-Free Moisturizer: This is a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer for those that don’t want a heavy cream. It isn’t overly moisturizing which is nice for those with combination to oily skin. In the summer, this will be perfect for my skin type. If you have super dry skin, I’d say to skip this moisturizer because it likely wouldn’t be hydrating enough.

Overall Thoughts

While I’ve only tried 5 products, I am pretty impressed so far. As I mentioned, I will update this post as I try more products from the Indie Lee line.

If you take an aggressive approach to skincare, this may not be the line for you. Also if don’t like sweet floral/fruity scents, you may not like these products. I loved the smell and didn’t think it lingered too long. However, I know that scent can be a real turn-off for some, so I thought I would mention it.

So who should try Indie Lee? If you are into gentle, clean beauty with tons of natural ingredients, you will love the products. Even though the line has only a few products, you will find a product for every skin type. This makes Indie Lee products great for everyone, even those with sensitive skin.

If you want to try Indie Lee products but don’t want to commit to a full-size product, they do offer small travel-size options for some of their products. I recommend picking up a kit, like the Indie Lee Discovery Kit, because it is a more cost-effective way to try the products.

You can buy the products from the Indie Lee website directly, but some of the skincare line can be bought at beauty stores like Sephora, BeautyLish, and The Detox Market as well as at Nordstrom.
