Skin tints, CC creams, and tinted moisturizers are taking over the beauty scene. As a lover of light coverage makeup, I totally understand the hype. Lightweight foundations are better for your pores, the application is super easy, and they give you a “your skin but better” finish.
With so many brands coming out with light coverage foundations, it can be hard to know which formula you should buy. To help you out, I’ve put together a list of the best options available right now.
Best Lightweight Foundations
Fenty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint
Rihanna and Fenty Beauty developed the Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint specifically for oily skin types or anyone that is looking for a more natural finish to their skin tint. Not only will this tint even out your skin tone, but it also gives a blurred look to the skin that makes you look naturally flawless.
Right now, this skin tint is flying off the shelves. Most of the shades are sold out at Sephora. If you want to pick this one up, you will need to stalk Sephora and hope for a restock or see which shades are available to purchase directly from Fenty.
PS. Of all the foundations on this list, the Fenty Eaze Drop is the best lightweight foundation for oily skin.
Milk Sunshine Skin Tint Clean SPF 30 Foundation
Available in a newly expanded shade range, the Milk Sunshine Skin Tint leaves the skin with a dewy, glowing finish. Not only will this tint give you a beautiful glowy finish, but the SPF also gives you added sun protection.
While the roller ball might not be the best delivery system, I am willing to overlook it due to the ease of application. With the latest formula change, Milk also made this refillable. That means you can restock your shade without paying the full cost of the product.
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint
When you think of skin tint, Glossier is probably the first thing that comes to mind. The Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is the sheerest of the sheer. If you want next to zero coverage but a lot of dew, this is the skin tint for you.

Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation
Infused with nourishing ingredients, this lightweight formula leaves the skin feeling super-hydrated while minimizing imperfections like uneven tone and texture with a blurring effect. After applying, you’ll notice a healthy glow and medium coverage that looks like real skin and wears for up to 24 hours.
It might be a stretch to include this product on the list because it overs more coverage than a typical skin tint or tinted moisturizer. However, it does give the skin a nice and dewy lightweight finish to the skin.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector
Perfect your skin with a sheer hint of coverage for an effortless, no-makeup makeup dewy finish. This tinted moisturizer is formulated to give you added hydration and SPF sun protection.
The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer has been my go-to for years. The formula provides just the right amount of coverage and will give a nice dewy glow to the skin.
NYX Professional Makeup Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil
The tinted skin veil is a lightweight tinted cream with a satin finish. Simply apply this weightless formula onto the face with your fingers or a brush for light coverage.
If you are looking for a drugstore alternative to the Fenty, this is the best option I’ve found. It gives a more natural finish to the skin and would be a great option for those with combination skin.
L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation
L’Oréal Paris Cosmetics, Radiant Serum Foundation is a carefully formulated foundation that provides your skin with Vitamin B3 and Hydrating Serum while also being suitable for sensitive skin. Radiant Serum Foundation evens tone providing natural, radiant coverage with the added benefit of SPF 50.
I’m pretty sure this serum foundation was L’Oreal’s attempt to compete with the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint. Honestly, I like this one better. The Ilia didn’t even make it onto this list. I love that this serum foundation has a truly radiant finish, plays well with other products, and is affordable.
Of all the lightweight foundations on the list, I reach for the Fenty and the Laura Mercier the most. To keep the natural makeup look, I pair either of them with a cream blush and bronzer. I’ll skip eyeshadow and swipe on some mascara. I’ll finish the look by blotting on a pinky nude lip.
If there is a new lightweight foundation you would like me to test, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM on Instagram.
